Immers Mona had ook buren die begroet dienden te worden, de vader van Quasimodo moest bezocht worden aan het Place de Vosges, Montparnasse had ook een prachtig uitzicht en ook Picasso en Rodin kon ik niet aan hun lot overlaten.
Ieder bezoek aan de stad werd de stad mij liever en toen bleek dat hier ook nog eens een mooie vervolgstudie zat, was ik verkocht. Hier wilde ik studeren, dit zou mijn toekomst worden. En nu jaren later zie ik dagelijks de Arc de Triomphe en sleurt de metro mij door alle uithoeken van de stad. Ieder weekend lijkt er meer te zien en te bezoeken.
Afgelopen week was echter bijzonder. Mijn opa en oma waren in de stad. Samen struinden we over straten en pleinen en genoten we van alles wat te stad te bieden heeft. Nu echter liet ik mijn grootouders delen in mijn eigen hoogtepunten van de stad. En dus kwamen we tot rust tussen Monet's waterlelies, waaide de wind door onze haren langs de Seine en keken we uit over de stad vanaf Montmartre.
En zo zaten we op de 17e oktober samen aan tafel en hieven wij ons glas. Op de stad, op 86 jaren, op de toekomst. De cirkel was rond.
